  1. Product Highlights
    • Before buying, make sure you have a 1" x 1.75" flat spot where you can drill and install the deflector. i recommend that you drill a 1/2" hole first, then center the deflector. after testing, if the 1/2" hole isn't big enough, use a file or die grinder to lengthen the hole for sawing. use bit 3/32 as guide holes for screws.
    • Important: most chainsaws require carburetor adjustments after a muffler modification. not only do you usually need more fuel to take advantage of the better breathing you get with a dual-port muffler, but after retrofitting the muffler, your saw may be running too thin. running too thin can damage your motor!
    • Chainsaw muffler mod kit, measures 1.75 (1 3/4) inches x 0.875 (7/8) inches wide. welded to the deflector with a width of 1 inch. the cutout in the base is about 1/2" x 3/4" long.
    • I recommend that you don't use an electric screwdriver to set the two screws. screw them in by hand so you don't strip the muffler holes. the screws provided with this kit are stainless steel #8 x 1/2" long. the spark arrester screen is also stainless steel and is held in place by a deflector mounted on top of it.
    • It is your responsibility to ensure that your chainsaw and its muffler are suitable for retrofitting. i would not recommend running a dual port muffler without spark suppression. therefore, stainless steel spark arrestor screen is included. before assuming a modified saw is legal where you plan to run it, check your federal, state, and local laws.
